It appears the journey for  Bobby Abreu as a Dodger has come to an end. Today the Dodgers announced that Abreu has been designated for assignment, further infuriating fans around the league. I’ve been calling for Uribe’s head on the chopping block for quite some time now, to keep Uribe on the lineup over Abreu shows a huge lack of accountability in my opinion.

I am pretty disgusted at the moment. I said yesterday on Twitter, the best move the Dodgers could make at the deadline would be to DFA Uribe. What a shame. Somebody will obviously pick Abreu up as a nice lefty bat off the bench. The Dodgers may end up regretting this one down the stretch.

The roster move had to be made to make room for Shane Victorino on the Dodgers 40-man roster. I could think of three other moves that would’ve been better for the team, sad it had to be Abreu.
