Found September 26, 2010 on Dodgers Rumors: Yardbarker Blogger Network
It was announced today that Dodgers minor leaguer Preston Mattingly was traded to the Cleveland Indian for outfielder Roman Pena. I wonder if Don Mattingly wasn't the manager of the Dodgers would this trade even be news? The timing of this trade is unusual, I wonder if the trade has anything to do with Preston's father taking over as manager of the Dodgers? Sounds ridiculous I know, and as far as I know there are no rules prohibiting anything of this. It's probably just me over analyzing the situation as I am prone to do.Preston has been nothing but a huge bust since being drafted in the first round of the 2006 draft. Pena isn't much better, in fact he's probably worse. So this trade is nothing spectacular other than the fact the Dodgers are giving up on Preston and hoping the older Mattingly can find better success.
