National League Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw avoided salary arbitration with the Los Angeles Dodgers by agreeing to a two-year deal worth $19 million on Tuesday. Kershaw, who received a $500,000 signing bonus, will earn $7.5 million in 2012 and $11 million in 2013. The first NL hurler to win the Triple Crown since then-San Diego Padres star Jake Peavy in 2007, Kershaw earned 21 wins with a 2.28 ERA - the lowest in the majors - and 248 strikeouts The 23-year-old Kershaw received 27 first-place votes and 207 points to outdistance Philadelphia Phillies ace Roy Halladay, who claimed four first-place votes and 113 points.
