ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Ted Lilly threw three 20-pitch simulated innings in the bullpen, taking another step toward a rehab assignment from a shoulder injury. Lilly is 5-1 with a 3.14 ERA in eight starts, and has been on the 15-day disabled list since late May with shoulder inflammation. He stepped it up Tuesday from the last session four days earlier when he threw 40 pitches. The next step would be a simulated game throwing to hitters.

Dodgers land Hanley Ramirez for Nathan Eovaldi and Scott McGough

Well, this is certainly some fantastic news to wake up to. The Dodgers have acquired Hanley Ramirez and Randy Choate from the Marlins for Nathan Eovaldi and Scott McGough. Wow. I'm still not sure how to react. I'll do a more in-depth post later, but I wanted for fire this one off before going to work. It seems the Dodgers' checkbook finally paid off (sorry...

Dodgers Land Hanley Ramirez

You read that correctly. ESPN.com is reporting that the Los Angeles Dodgers have landed premier third baseman Hanley Ramirez for Nathan Eovaldi and minor leaguer Scott McGough. The All-Star third baseman will switch coasts as the Dodgers work Ramirez in the 4th year of his 6 year contract. This, almost needless to say, is a major upgrade to the Dodgers lineup, having him sit...

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Chad Billingsley returned from the 15-day disabled list with a strong outing that ended a five-start losing streak and Luis Cruz hit a three-run homer as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the St. Louis Cardinals 5-3 Monday night for their fifth straight victory. Cruz, recalled July 2 to replaced injured shortstop Dee Gordon, has two career homers and 12 RBIs. Eight...

Cardinals still can't beat Dodgers

The last time the Los Angeles Dodgers were in town, late last August, they swept the Cardinals in a three-game series that dropped the Cardinals 10 games out of the division lead and 10 12 games out of the wild-card race. The Cardinals then rallied to win the wild card, the pennant and the World Series. The situation isn't as dire this time, but the Dodgers beat the Cardinals...

Ramirez starts out at third base in Dodgers debut

Now that the Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired three-time All-Star Hanley Ramirez, the question is: Where will he play with his new team? Ramirez played shortstop for more than six years with the Marlins but moved to third base this season when Miami signed free agent shortstop Jose Reyes. The Dodgers have gotten only four home runs out of their third basemen this season but are...

Dodgers land Hanley Ramirez

The Los Angeles Dodgers have worked out a multiplayer trade to acquire former NL batting champion Hanley Ramirez from Miami, the second big deal in as many days for the disappointing Marlins. The Dodgers will also get reliever Randy Choate while the Marlins will receive pitcher Nathan Eovaldi and a minor leaguer. Multiple media outlets reported the deal late Tuesday night. The...

Los Angeles Dodgers fan shows off awesome dance moves at Tampa Bay Rays game

I'll be honest, I'm not really sure why this Los Angeles Dodgers fan decided to attend a baseball game between the Seattle Mariners and the Tampa Bay Rays. However, extra innings gave this fan a chance to shine for the world of the Interweb and he showed off some smooth moves.I'll give him an 8.5 on the dance but only a 5.4 on the delivery: <p>&amp...

A Bison Freebie, Paying It Forward Style.

The below card was sent to me for no reason other than its sender knew I would love it and it would make a mighty fine addition to my Matt Kemp Collection. It's part of some kind of Pay It Forward Program amongst us wonderful bloggers. You know, like the movie.Except Haley Joel Osment doesn't die now that I've posted the card.Yeah, that's totally the only difference...

Blue Crew Shoots for Continued Success in St. Louis

By SBRForum.com The LA Dodgers were swooning going into the All-Star break, but thanks goodness for the returns of Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier. Because LA, like at least some of us who offer up free MLB picks figured it would, regained a bit of stream with a three-game sweep of the Mets in New York over the weekend. Now the Dodgers move on to St. Louis...

3 Up & 3 Down: The Sky Is Falling Edition

Extra, Extra, Grieve All About It! The Los Angeles Dodgers were in town this weekend, and they wound up sweeping the hapless Mets, and putting the good guys under .500 for the first time this season. It was an awful start to the homestand especially after a 1-5 road trip to start the second half. Oh and by the way, here came the Nationals. Without further ado, here are the 3 Ups...
