PHOENIX Down for a few minutes after attempting a diving catch in left-center field, Yasiel Puig was forced to make a fifth-inning exit from the Dodgers game against the Cincinnati Reds on Friday.
As Puig lay in the grass, Manager Don Mattingly and two trainers rushed to the outfield. Puig was able to walk off the field under his own power.
It wasnt immediately known what Puig injured.
The top prospect was charged with an error on the play, which was the end result of a fly ball hit by Brandon Phillips.
Puig was one for two at the time of his exit, which dropped his batting average to .520.
Puig lined out to second base in the first inning. But in the fourth inning, Puig doubled to left field and advanced to third base on an error by Ryan Ludwick.
Earlier in the day, Dodgers co-owner Magic Johnson said he was very excited to get his first glimpse of Puig, who was signed for 42 million last year.
