The Los Angeles Dodgers
are going through their second stint this year with MVP candidate
Matt Kemp on the DL. They weathered the first storm, winning nine of
14 games. But after dropping two of three games in Colorado over the
weekend they're now 1-3 during Kemp's second visit on the injured
ahead, how can we expect LA to perform, especially when it comes to
making money on it’s MLB betting odds, with Kemp on the shelf?
Also on the injury front
the Rockies are 3-1 since placing Troy Tulowitzki on the DL because
of a pulled groin. But can we expect them to keep that up without
Colorado took the opener
of their series with the Dodgers Friday night 13-3, getting to LA
starter Chris Capuano and reliever Jamey Wright for 11 runs on 13
hits. The Dodgers also booted four balls. The Rockies won as -115
favorites, and the game topped its 'over/under' when Colorado scored
three runs in the bottom of the seventh.
With Kemp out LA will be
an underdog much more often than before.
The Dodgers took
Saturday's game 6-2, getting a quality start from Aaron Harang and
cashing in as +140 underdogs. That game played 'under' its total of
The Rockies then took
Sunday's series rubber match 3-2 as started Alex White held LA to two
hits in 6 2/3 innings. Colorado won as a -115 favorite, and that game
also stayed 'under' its total of 11.
So Los Angeles has lost
six of its last seven games.
Looking big-picture LA's
lead in the NL West is down to three games over second-place San
Francisco, while the Rockies sit 9.5 games back.
This week the Dodgers
play a four-game series in Philadelphia starting Monday, then head
back cross-country for a three-game weekend interleague series in
visits Arizona for three games beginning Monday, then goes back home
for a three-game weekend set with the Los Angeles Angels.
