Aaron Miles collected four hits to raise his batting average to .305
Whew…that’s all I can really say. I turn on the television to watch the rest of the game and the Los Angeles Dodgers are up 7 -1 going into the bottom of the 9th, suffice to say I was pretty confident they’d get through it. Alas, Scott Elbert and Matt Guerrier proceeded to give up 5 runs making the score 7-6 and causing a million collective groans from Dodgers fans as the bullpen stated to implode again.
Nevertheless, in the top of the 9th the Dodgers revitalized offense, who only seem to hit when the pitching is bad, scored four runs with two of them coming from a Jamey Carroll double on a soft line drive to center field.
Unfortunately in the bottom of the 9th rookie closer Javy Guerra decided to give us all a fright giving up a lead off double to Carlos Gonzalez, luckily the ball coming off the bat of Eric Young Jr felt suicidal and found the glove of Guerra who then threw the ball to Dee Gordon...
