The Winter Meetings are almost upon us, as the Dodgers prepare for their first Winter Meetings under the Guggenheim era. The Dodgers are expected to be busy and ready to spend big. On the free agent market after being non-tendered by the Giants earlier this week,  Brian Wilson, who has said his first preference is with the Dodgers. This rumor could definitely gain some momentum over the next few days, but I caution the Dodgers to do their due diligence here. First of all ex-Giant, huge red flag, and Wilson has been injury riddled for the last two seasons. Heyman hears the A.J. Pierzynski  to the Dodgers is “not happening.” Heyman suggested yesterday that the Dodgers could have interest in Pierzynski. We will see if this gets revisited over the next week, but I am perfectly happy with A.J. Ellis anyway. Zack Greinke, this year’s biggest free agent prize has already met with Dodgers executives this week, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he is signed by the end of the Winter Meetings.  The Dodgers have some serious competition for Greinke, as the Angels, Nationals and Rangers are already making their presence known. The Dodgers have interest in free agent right-hander Kyle Lohse, reports Mark Saxon of ESPN Los Angeles. Yes, the Dodgers are interested in virtually every pitcher this winter, we get it. Mark Reynolds and Kevin Youkilis are a couple more names to watch as both players could make some sense under the right scenario for the Dodgers. Then the trade possibilities, oh the endless possibilities, Ted Lilly, Aaron Harang, and Chris Capuano stand the biggest chance of being traded this winter. We have seen the rumors involving Chris Capuano and Joel Hanrahan, a trade I would pull the trigger on, heck I would that trigger every day of the week. I would also expect to see Dee Gordon’s name surface in trade rumors this winter. The Dodgers look locked and loaded to make Hanley the every-day shortstop, so this could definitely be a scenario to follow closely. I will be covering the Winter Meetings.
