The Los Angeles Dodgers are hoping that platelet-rich plasma
injections along with anti-inflammatory medication help right-hander Zack

Day, according to Ken Gurnick of MLB.com.
The Dodgers have several former cases that point to the
success of the treatment Greinke is currently receiving. The plasma injections
helped reliever Takashi Saito in 2008, while right-hander Chad Billingsley’s
elbow also responded well and was able to avoid Tommy John surgery.
While the medical community isn’t sure whether the
injections work, they are not believed to cause further damage. For this
reason, the Dodgers feel comfortable giving the plasma a try considering it has
appeared to help other pitchers in the past.
The procedure involves drawing the patient's blood and, with
a centrifuge, separating the platelets, then re-injecting the concentrated

Dodgers' Zack Greinke to resume playing cacth
It still seems unlikely that Zack Greinke makes his first start of the season for the Los Angeles Dodgers. His inflamed elbow will likely keep him out. However, Greinke is making progress and showing some positive signs. Like playing catch again.
Greinke will play catch again today for the first time since the diagnosis says Ken Gurnick of MLB.com. Of course, playing catch...
Crawford progresses, Greinke still uncertain
PHOENIX -- Carl Crawford is scheduled to hit Thursday in a minor league game against Meiji University of Japan, two days after he took live batting practice.

It’s a flawless plan.
Mattingly: Prospect Puig to start in minors
PHOENIX Outfield prospect Yasiel Puig wont start the season in the major leagues, Manager Don Mattingly said Thursday.

Limited Match-Ups, Limited Dual Auto: Clayton Kershaw and Ryan Braun
I love coming across pieces of cardboard I was entirely unaware of. The thrill of discovery is a pretty awesome thing, especially when your discovery is a must-have and the price remains surprisingly reasonable. Case in point, this fantastic and gorgeous card I nabbed a while back from the clutches of eBay.Numbered out of a scant 20 - 02/20 for my copy - it's a dual auto featuring...
Carl Crawford takes one small step toward return
The Dodgers have invested a lot (from prospects, to cold hard cash) in winning in the short term, and Carl Crawford figures to be a big part of that. Red flags went up all over the place when he was shut down a couple of weeks ago as he tries to recover from reconstructive elbow surgery. Crawford took a major step today in facing live, major league pitching in Glendale, Arizona...
Zack Greinke’s elbow places season debut in jeopardy

Carl Crawford taking minor league at-bats

Tommy Lasorda reads World Baseball Classic tweets in foreign languages (video)
With the international flavor of the World Baseball Classic, some jokester thought it would be a hoot to trot out the 85-year-old Los Angeles Dodgers legend Tommy Lasorda at the MLB Man Cave and have him read tweets about the tournament. But not only tweets in English, but foreign languages as well.
To be honest, Mr. Tommy Lasorda looks a bit confused by the whole thing. Lasorda...
