I watched ESPN’s latest 30 at 30 documentary, “Catching Hell”, with great interest on Thursday night. The doc covered the infamous Steve Bartman play in the 2003 NLCS as well as an in depth look at the equally infamous Buckner play from the ’86 World Series. The airing was perfect timing for the network as it came just one night after the greatest single night of regular season baseball drama ever. Just as in 1986 the Boston Red Sox  had once again delivered a soul crushing collapse, this time at the hands of the Baltimore Orioles and the Tampa Rays. The Chicago Cubs’ season fittingly ended with a wimper on Wednesday night in a meaningless after hours blowout loss to the San Diego Padres. In watching “Catching Hell” I was reminded of my uneasiness in watching Game 6 from my home that fateful night in 2003.
