At Sunday's Los Angeles Dodgers game, a fan used a baseball cap to catch a foul ball hit by St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Rafael Furcal.

In the top of the second inning, Furcal hit a foul ball down the third base side. Dodgers third baseman Adam Kennedy chased it but ran into a wall that was thigh-high at the edge of the stands. Meanwhile, the fan in the front row used his cap and made a nice grab.

Report: Ellis almost lost a leg

Dodgers second baseman Mark Ellis needed emergency surgery after injuring his leg on Saturday night, and a recent report indicates he was dangerously close to losing a leg.

Dodgers Soldier On Without Kemp

By SBRForum.com You'd think losing an MVP and triple-crown candidate like Matt Kemp would have a negative impact on a team's ability to score runs and win games. But for the Los Angeles Dodgers that has not yet been the case. LA was off to a great start this year with Kemp leading the way, and now the Blue Crew is proving it can win...

Ellis almost lost leg after injury

The Los Angeles Dodgers' Mark Ellis was so severely injured in a play at second base Friday night that he came within hours of potentially losing his leg, manager Don Mattingly said Sunday. Ellis underwent a fasciotomy on his lower left leg Saturday and team physician Dr. Neal ElAttrache told him the muscle might have died if surgery had been performed six or seven hours later...

Despite injuries, Dodgers finding ways to win

LOS ANGELES A solar eclipse took place in Los Angeles Sunday evening, but If you looked at the Dodgers disabled list rather than the team's 25-man roster, you'd come away certain that things had already gotten about as dark as can be. And when second baseman Mark Ellis joined the dreaded "List of Eight"four starters included--the light at the end of the tunnel...

Dodgers lose Ellis at least six weeks

Mark Ellis has been a big contributor to the Los Angeles Dodgers' hot start, providing stellar defense at second base and getting on base at the top of the order, with a .373 on-base percentage and 27 runs scored in 37 games through Sunday's 6-5 win over St. Louis. But Ellis will be out for at least six weeks after getting placed on the disabled list on Saturday. Ellis...

Los Angeles Dodgers rollercoaster season continues

Talk about taking the bad with the good. The Dodgers completed a sweep of a three-game series against the World Champion Cardinals Sunday night only to get more bad news along two fronts. Rookie Scott Van Slyke (right) was the unexpected hero Sunday night when he hit a pinch-hit, three run home run that turned a 5-3 Dodgers deficit into a 6-5 win. First, second baseman Mark Ellis...

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Clayton Kershaw outdueled Jake Westbrook with a six-hitter for his fourth career shutout, leading the Los Angeles Dodgers over the St. Louis Cardinals 6-0 Saturday night. Justin Sellers triggered a four-run seventh inning with his first home run of the season for the NL West-leading Dodgers, who improved the best record in the majors to 27-13. Kershaw (4-1)...

A Legacy’s Son Gets Some Home Cooking

First blast It only took Scott Van Slyke, of the Los Angeles Dodgers, nine plate appearances to hit his first career home run with a blast over the left field wall.  Scott, the son of former Pittsburgh Pirates 3 time All-Star Andy Van Slyke, received the green light on a  3-0 pitch from Marc Rzepczynski. Are These Dodgers Or Padres Fans Curb Stomping & Trying To Kill A Guy?

Just happened upon this video today while looking for footage of the Dodgers fan fight this weekend that’s getting all sorts of attention from L.A. media. What we have here, according to the YouTuber who uploaded it, is from Thursday night’s Padres-Dodgers game in San Diego. What we have is one guy in his boxers challenging three homeboys to a street fight. What happens next...

Just Another Manic Monday

Took the past few days to regroup and hopefully I can break out of the mini-funk that has my season record currently at 9-5, +$385. There are actually several games I like on today’s schedule, but will go with what I am most confident in:   Dodgers +103 over Diamondbacks / Under 9 Bet $100 on each Any time you can get the team with the best record in the majors as an underdog...

Testing the Depth

Questions about the health of the 2012 St. Louis Cardinals started popping up before the ink was dry on the contracts signed by Rafael Furcal and Carlos Beltran. But those two players were not at the front of the line for treatment from the Cards medical staff. That spot belonged to Chris Carpenter, much like his rotation counterpart Adam Wainwright in 2011. Losing Ace 1A certainly...
