Justin Miller, 35, was found dead on Wednesday night in Palm Harbor, FL. The former big league pitcher last pitched for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2010 and logged 216 appearances over seven years. In 2004 batters began to complain about the tattoos on Millers arm claiming they were a distraction. Miller was then forced to wear long sleeves while on the mound. In addition to play for the Dodgers, Miller also spent time with the Toronto Blue Jays, Miami Marlins (then Florida) and San Francisco Giants. After retiring Miller began coaching and founded the Justin Miller’s Legacy Baseball/Softball and Personal Training in Clearwater, FL. in 2012. Miller leaves behind a wife of 15 years and two children aged 18 and 7.

Bochy: Puig no lock to be all-star

Yasiel Puig may have taken Major League Baseball by storm, but NL All-Star manager says the phenom still has to prove himself if he wants to play in the midsummer classic.

I wonder if Hanley Ramirez was excited about the walk-off win?

I guess so.

Josh Beckett Opts to Undergo Season-Ending Surgery

Josh Beckett‘s season is over. The Dodgers right-hander, who has not pitched since May 13, has elected to undergo surgery to treat thoracic outlet syndrome, which has caused nerve irritation near his neck and resulted in numbness in his pitching fingers. Dallas-based Dr. Greg Pearl will perform the surgery on July 8, the team announced Friday, sidelining Beckett for three to five...

Stephen Fife Throws Gem, Los Angeles Dodgers Beat Philadelphia Phillies 6-1

The best start of Stephen Fife‘s season propelled the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 6-0 win on Sunday over the Philadelphia Phillies. With the win, L.A. took three of the four games in the weekend series. Things were quiet until the fourth, when the Dodgers broke out against Kyle Kendrick for two runs: Yasiel Puig reached on an infield single, stole second and scored on an RBI single...

Skip Schumaker Pitches Scoreless Inning. Phillies 16, Dodgers 1

The Blog doesn’t have a lot to say about last night’s 16-1 embarrassment against the Philadelphia Phillies. So we’ll focus on the one positive here, and let the readers off easy. Skip Schumaker pitched a scoreless 9th inning.  Brushed batters back.  And got the last guy he faced to strike out.  Schumaker was the only Dodger pitcher last night to not allow a run. Here’s...

John Lannan had three hits and pitched seven solid innings as he Philadelphia Phillies blasted the Los Angeles Dodgers 16-1 Friday night in Los Angeles. Pretty sure this is the first game of the season every starter in the lineup recorded a...

Yasiel Is The New Normal. Dodgers 6, Phillies 4

Yasiel Puig doing something remarkable is becoming so common that it hardly qualifies as news anymore. The young Cuban phenom seems to be able to handle just about every pitch thrown to him.  If he makes a play that looks bone-headed, he usually makes up for it an inning or two later by making a play that drops jaws.  A hard throw to get a runner taking an extra base.  A diving...
