RIZZO MANIA Will Run Wild on the Windy City

Anthony Rizzo was traded with pitcher Zach Cates to the Cubs in exchange for pitcher Andrew Cashner and Kyung-Min Na on Friday.  While we had plenty of fun with the whole #RIZZOMANIA thing, it was clear that after the Padres acquired Yonder Alonso the writing was on the wall. My secret Cub Fan reason for loving the Anthony Rizzo for Andrew Cashner trade

So the Cubs traded flamethrowing Andrew Cashner for a real first base prospect, Anthony Rizzo of the Padres Sure, young Andrew has tremendous potential. Padres acquire Andrew Cashner for Anthony Rizzo

If we learned anything from Jed Hoyer’s stay in San Diego, trading with him probably isn’t the best idea. With the likes of Theo Epstein and Jason McLeod as reinforcements, it doesn’t help matters. Andrew Cashner next to go in Cubs’ rebuilding

So much for the future the Cubs envisioned when the “Killer C’s” — Andrew Cashner, Tyler Colvin and Starlin Castro — broke into the big leagues as promising rookies in 2010. In fact, not even the Cubs are offering much in the way of vision or promises for a 2012 season that appears murkier with every move the new front office makes. Less than a month after Colvin was traded...
