Mark Loretta was everything you dream of when you talk about an infielder. He had a good glove, he had a high average and he was generally a good clubhouse infielder. He always seemed to be in demand when free agency came up, but never earned more than 5 million a season. Hell, one year, he was even traded for Doug Mirabelli. That can’t be good, right? If nothing else, Loretta was the perfect example of a player everyone was aware of but was never truly in the public eye.
