So, this is what 2;30 am in Australia looks like, the coffee will be in high demand today. Its game three in the series and let hope we can get out with a much-needed win. Jake Peavy had the mound pass today, and fingers crossed he is well rested and ready to go. Gordon Beckham is on the 15 day disabled list as of April 12. Weather is STILL an issue with it being very cold and rain.
Settle back, get some coffee and lets play ball

Ok, kids it’s time to pack the bag again and grab the passport because we are heading north to Toronto Canada, for a four game series with the Blue Jays and then its straight home for a three game series with the Minnesota Twins, then the Indians come for a visit on home turf for three games and finally closing out the home stand is a four game series with the Tampa Bay Rays before a well deserved day off.

Is it just me or can anyone else see Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Jose Quintana doing a parody of the Princess Bride?
"My name is Jose Quintana. You hit my ball. Prepare to die.
Last season White Sox starting pitcher Jose Quintana was good (but not great). His 3.76 ERA was respectable in 22 starts and 136+ innings of work, but he only struck out 81. It's...
The Chicago White Sox have placed infielder Angel Sanchez on the 15-day disabled list with a strained lower back and purchased the contract of infielder Tyler Greene from Triple-A Charlotte.
Sanchez has appeared in one game and is hitless in two at-bats. The move is retroactive to Wednesday.
Greene was released by Houston in spring training and signed to a minor league contract...
If you look back through the archives of this blog, you’ll read a lot of good times for us provided by The Big Donkey Adam Dunn. He was the original Godfather of Diamond Hoggers. He was a key cog on our fantasy teams from about 2002 until 2008. He probably gave us anywhere from 250 to 300 fantasy home runs, and was the reason we won the home run title every year.
This season, we...
Adam Dunn arrived in the Major Leagues in 2001. Since then, he has led the major leagues in both walks (1,172) and strikeouts (2,046) and is third in home runs (408), and his career stands as something of the perfect example of the Three True Outcomes. Of the 7,256 times he’s walked up to the plate, 3,702 of those PAs (51%) have ended without defensive involvement. Dunn has...
It was not a very good week for the White Sox. Their first road trip of the year started out with a five game losing streak before the Sox were able to break through and get a win on Sunday against the Indians. Let’s take a look at those who helped contribute to the five game skid, and those that played well in spite of it.
Jake Peavy struck out 11 in seven innings, Paul Konerko homered and the Chicago White Sox broke a five-game losing streak, beating the Cleveland Indians 3-1 Sunday.
The White Sox went into the game as the majors' only winless team on the road. Chicago was swept three games in Washington before dropping the first two against the Indians. The White Sox avoided their first 0-6...

Some St. Louis Cardinals' fans like to keep up with former players whether they were liked or disliked during their time in the Gateway City.
Tyler Greene, the former Cardinals enigmatic first rounder, is a player that was not liked very well in St. Louis. He was enormously talented and had the skill set to be an explosive middle infielder. Unfortunately, he never performed...
Mark Buehrle played 12 seasons for the Chicago White Sox, standing out as one of baseball's most reliable and consistent pitchers. Now, he'll take the mound against his former team for the first time.
Buehrle gets the nod for the Toronto Blue Jays in the opener of their four-game set against Chicago on Monday night at Rogers Centre.
The left-hander started his major league...
One of the key plays in this afternoon’s 9-4 Tribe victory over the White Sox was Mark Reynolds’s grand slam with nobody out that extended the Indians’ lead to 7-2 in the fifth inning. On the very next pitch, Sox starter Chris Sale drilled Michael Brantley, and both benches were warned as a result. Sale was chased from the game that inning, but he explained to our Scott Sargent...
Chris Sale has had his way with the Indians in the past. The left-handed may be all arms and legs, but the young bullpen arm turned starter made easy work of the previously left-handed heavy Tribe. In the offseason, the Tribe not only added more speed and power, but they added several right handed hitters for a better balanced lineup. Yesterday, with Jason Kipnis and Carlos Santana...
The White Sox head north of the border for a four game series with the Blue Jays to wrap up their ten game road trip. The first six games could have gone better for the South Siders, however they did leave Cleveland with a win on Sunday snapping a five game losing streak.
The Blue Jays have also have had a tough go of it to start the season and come into the series with...
Player of the Game: Jake Peavy (7 innings 5 hits 1 ER 0 BB / 11 SO)
The Tribe bats were iced by a great pitching performance by White Sox right hander Jake Peavy on Sunday, as the Wahoo’s fell to Chicago 3-1. In the loss, Cleveland wasted a solid pitching performance by Brett Myers, who rebounded off his first two outings giving up just two earned runs on six hits through...
