Cubs catcher Geovany Soto ran away with the National League Rookie of the Year award, becoming the fifth Chicago Cub in history to win the honor. Soto beat out Joey Votto by a margin of 158 to 76 points. Geo received 31 of 32 first place votes as the award is a fitting tribute to his great season. Soto hit .285 with 23 homers and 86 RBI and became the first National League rookie catcher to start in the All-Star Game.
