Throughout the 2012 postseason, Giants fans have willed their team to win through social media. Given San Francisco's proximity to Silicon Valley, perhaps it shouldn't surprise anyone that Giants fans are a bit more tech savvy than the rest of Major League Baseball, so thus their Twitter creativity is second to none. On Wednesday night, with Barry Zito on the hill, Giants fans created the hashtag #RallyZito to support the offbeat left-hander. Likewise, the hashtag #Vogelsongs has become popular across the nation, with fans inserting the Giants starter's name into song titles with contain the word "song." So, on Thursday night, they were back at it again -- this time in support of Game 2 starter Madison Bumgarner. This time it's the hashtag #RallyBum, and boy is it popular. The tag is not only popular in the City by the Bay, but is also trending nationally on Twitter, proving that everyone is tuning into the Fall Classic and joining in on the social media fun. Check out a few examples below: 7-4-2 out at the plate. You don't see that combination very often. Nice!#RallyBum #WorldSeries #OrangeOctober — Lorrie Russo (@LorrieRusso) October 26, 2012 What does Fister use for hairspray? Kevlar. That's got to hurt. Glad he is ok. #LetsGoGiants #RallyBum — Those Guys (@Those_Guys_) October 26, 2012 I hear that Bryan Stow is at the Giants game tonight. That's really awesome! I'm so happy for him that he's there. #OrangeOctober #RallyBum — RallyBum (@TrueSFGiantsFan) October 25, 2012 For those not familiar with the reference in the above tweet, Bryan Stow was the Giants fan who was put into a coma after being attacked while attending a Dodgers game in 2011. However, not everyone finds the hashtags so fun: #RallyBum is the most stupid thing I've ever heard . Way to be original weak as giants — JJ Canedo (@JJ_Canedo14) October 26, 2012
