Raise your hand if you knew the Harlem Globetrotters held a draft. Further, do the Washington General ever get the No. 1 pick in this thing? Anyway, the world's most famous barnstorming team held its draft Tuesday, and took Brittney Griner and Mariano Rivera -- yeah, the dunking WNBA player and the New York Yankees closer. Getting drafted by the Globetrotters doesn't constitute an agreement to play for the Globetrotters, so in all likelihood this headline will go down as a slight gag, just like the water bucket filled with confetti. Say what you will, though, because nobody can argue the Globetrotters haven't drafted well over the years. They've lost less than 2 percent of their games.

This year, in one of the few pleasant surprises, the Evil Empire is fielding two teams in the Gulf Coast League, the rookiest rookie league north of day care.Way I see it, we can't lose.
