Dodgers fans received good news on Tuesday when the club announced Zack Greinke is expected to take the mound against the Nationals on Wednesday night. Welcome back, Zack! Zack Greinke is expected to start in the series finale against the Nationals tomorrow night. Los Angeles Dodgers (@Dodgers) May 14, 2013 Greinke, who broke his left collarbone during an altercation with Padres outfielder Carlos Quentin on April 11, pitched on Friday for the Dodgers' Class A team, giving up five earned runs on six hits in 4 13 innings. Despite the rocky outing, Greinke is confident he'll be able to help the ailing Dodgers, who enter Tuesday in last place of the NL West, 7 games behind the division-leading Giants. "I won't be in midseason form, but I feel I'm able to get guys out," Greinke said following Friday's start. Greinke, who underwent surgery on April 13 and was expected to miss eight weeks, is 3 weeks ahead of schedule.

Greinke follows own timetable, gets it right

LOS ANGELES Zack Greinke isnt much for verbosity, usually letting his pitching do the talking. Wednesday night, though, the Dodgers 147-million right-hander was happy to comment about his performance in the Dodgers 3-1 win over the Washington Nationals. It was fun, the former Cy Young Award winner said. OK, so its maybe more of an observation than a full-fledged, in-depth comment...

The right-hander was expected...

Greinke gets the win and RBI single

Before the game, two scouts were debating whether Dodgers right-hander Zack Greinke would risk swinging the bat in his return from a broken left collarbone. One expressed doubt, but the other, possessing a better working knowledge of Greinke, chuckled at the idea the pitcher would hold back. "He's got a bigger ego about hitting than he does about pitching," the scout...

Greinke to pitch but Dodgers aren't sure where

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Zack Greinke will pitch on Wednesday. Greinke back, but Beckett on DL with groin strain

Injury Roll Call: Greinke’s comeback, A-Gon feeling pain, Elbert almost ready

Adrian Gonzalez and his neck strain still pose an issue for the Dodgers, as he can swing a bat without pain but can’t play the field or run without significant discomfort. If there was an opportunity for the Dodgers to unilaterally impose the designated hitter rule upon the National League, they just might do it. After all, their first baseman Adrian Gonzalez is still bothered...
