PLAYERS:
Matt Kemp,
Ryan Zimmerman,
Adrian Gonzalez
TEAMS: Los Angeles Dodgers, Washington Nationals
TEAMS: Los Angeles Dodgers, Washington Nationals
That's pretty far.
Matt Kemp scored the sixth run of the game for the Dodgers in the fourth inning, despite the fact that Ryan Zimmerman clearly tagged out Adrian Gonzalez at third with Kemp at least six? seven? feet from home plate. It would be so much easier if we could just blame the ****** umpiring on the NFL Replacement Refs, but alas, this is MLB, and these are professionals.
Later, the Nats staged a comeback for the ages to tie the game in the 8th. Matt Kemp's HR in the 9th should've been a game-tying shot. Instead, Nats lose Game 2 of the doubleheader 7-6.
Go clinch something tomorrow, boys.

The Dodgers should shut down Clayton Kershaw and Matt Kemp
Look, I'm not one for giving up on a season -- and that's in no way what I'm doing here -- but the Dodgers need to make a couple decisions and stick with them.
The Dodgers need to shut down Clayton Kershaw and Matt Kemp for the remainder of the season.
I know this isn't going to be a popular opinion, well, anywhere, but I truly believe it's the right...
Dodgers pitching requires more spending
So who's next for the Dodgers, Zack Greinke?
I'm not talking about one more trade to salvage the season; the Dodgers, even though they remain in contention for the second wild card, might be doomed given the uncertainty surrounding ace left-hander Clayton Kershaw.
No, I'm talking about the Dodgers signing Greinke or some other free agent, seeing as how the team faces...

Dodgers are being cautious with Kershaw
Clayton Kershaw was back with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday, one day after meeting with a hip specialist in New York about his ailing right hip. But the left-hander isn't particularly close to being able to pitch -- the Dodgers are taking a cautious approach with their ace. Kershaw played catch off flat ground on Wednesday with first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, but the...

Clayton Kershaw trying to throw without using his hips sounds like a swell idea … no it doesn’t
Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw got a second opinion on his hip today, which revealed nothing new from the doctor, but we did get a few tidbits dropped on the situation by other people.

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw resumed his
throwing program earlier this week, but manager Don Mattingly isn’t putting a

Offense sputters as Matt Kemp and Dodgers edge out Reds in extras
This guy put the clinch on hold, for now
A Cardinals loss to the Cubs earlier in the day meant that the Reds could clinch their second NL Central title in three seasons with a win over the visiting Dodgers on Friday. Unfortunately, the Reds (91-60) will have to wait at least one more day after suffering 3-1 defeat to LA (78-73) in extra innings.
There wasn't much...
Ryan Zimmerman’s rolling punch/tag of Adrian Gonzalez in the balls/taint was the play of the game
There’s no way around it, yesterday’s game was a mess, but besides somehow managing to win, the best highlight was probably Ryan Zimmerman tagging/punching Adrian Gonzalez in the balls/taint.
Not only did it provide amusement, but it inexplicably led to the Dodgers getting the extra run needed to win the game without going to extras.
See? Even Ryan Zimmermann regrets violating...

10 notes about the Dodgers series
The Reds (91-59) became the first team in Major League Baseball to clinch a playoff spot on Thursday when they completed a sweep over the Cubs. The win also trimmed their magic number to clinch the NL Central down to just two. And what better place and time to clinch it than at home at Great American Ball Park on the weekend?
One team who may have something to say about the...
