That's pretty far.
Matt Kemp scored the sixth run of the game for the Dodgers in the fourth inning, despite the fact that Ryan Zimmerman clearly tagged out Adrian Gonzalez at third with Kemp at least six? seven? feet from home plate. It would be so much easier if we could just blame the ****** umpiring on the NFL Replacement Refs, but alas, this is MLB, and these are professionals.
Later, the Nats staged a comeback for the ages to tie the game in the 8th. Matt Kemp's HR in the 9th should've been a game-tying shot. Instead, Nats lose Game 2 of the doubleheader 7-6.
Go clinch something tomorrow, boys.

Look, I'm not one for giving up on a season -- and that's in no way what I'm doing here -- but the Dodgers need to make a couple decisions and stick with them.
The Dodgers need to shut down Clayton Kershaw and Matt Kemp for the remainder of the season.
I know this isn't going to be a popular opinion, well, anywhere, but I truly believe it's the right...
So who's next for the Dodgers, Zack Greinke?
I'm not talking about one more trade to salvage the season; the Dodgers, even though they remain in contention for the second wild card, might be doomed given the uncertainty surrounding ace left-hander Clayton Kershaw.
No, I'm talking about the Dodgers signing Greinke or some other free agent, seeing as how the team faces...
After not being able to cash in on the rubber game with the Cardinals over the weekend, the Dodgers face a three game series with the NL East leading Nationals. After a day off Monday to travel, will the Dodgers be able to keep winning to put pressure on the Cardinals. There are only a few more weeks of MLB picks, and the Dodgers sit a game back of the Cardinals for the second wildcard...
Clayton Kershaw was back with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday, one day after meeting with a hip specialist in New York about his ailing right hip. But the left-hander isn't particularly close to being able to pitch -- the Dodgers are taking a cautious approach with their ace. Kershaw played catch off flat ground on Wednesday with first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, but the...
WASHINGTON, D.C. Clayton Kershaw survived a minor scare in the first game of the Dodgers doubleheader against the Washington Nationals on Wednesday, as he was hit on the side of the head by a fragment of Hanley Ramirezs shattered bat.
The incident occurred in the third inning, when Ramirez singled to right field. Kershaw was sitting in the Dodgers dugout.
Kershaw, who is sidelined...
Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw got a second opinion on his hip today, which revealed nothing new from the doctor, but we did get a few tidbits dropped on the situation by other people.
Clayton Kershaw was examined Tuesday by a hip specialist, who said the reigning National League Cy Young Award winner can continue to pitch without risking further damage to his right hip, but the Dodgers...
At least if should make Wednesday interesting.
The Dodgers game against the Nationals in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday was rained out when a heavy storm moved through the capital.
A key doubleheader is now scheduled for Wednesday beginning at 1 p.m. Each game will air on KCAL.
The Dodgers will start Aaron Harang in the first game and Josh Beckett in the nightcap.
The Dodgers have...
Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw resumed his
throwing program earlier this week, but manager Don Mattingly isn’t putting a
timeframe on his ace’s potential return, reports Mike Fiammetta of MLB.com:
"I just think he needs
to be able to start doing everything he usually does without any pain at
all," Mattingly said. "It's up to him...
This guy put the clinch on hold, for now
A Cardinals loss to the Cubs earlier in the day meant that the Reds could clinch their second NL Central title in three seasons with a win over the visiting Dodgers on Friday. Unfortunately, the Reds (91-60) will have to wait at least one more day after suffering 3-1 defeat to LA (78-73) in extra innings.
There wasn't much...
There’s no way around it, yesterday’s game was a mess, but besides somehow managing to win, the best highlight was probably Ryan Zimmerman tagging/punching Adrian Gonzalez in the balls/taint.
Not only did it provide amusement, but it inexplicably led to the Dodgers getting the extra run needed to win the game without going to extras.
See? Even Ryan Zimmermann regrets violating...
Reigning NL Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw has been examined by a hip specialist who says the Los Angeles left-hander can continue to pitch without risking damage to his sore right hip, but the Dodgers want to keep him sidelined if the pain persists.
The team said Kershaw would re-start a throwing program Tuesday, when the Dodgers' scheduled game at the Washington Nationals...
Los Angeles Dodgers ace, Clayton Kershaw will more than likely be sidelined until May of 2013 due to pain in his right hip that could require surgery.
Kershaw and the Dodgers are expected to know for sure this afternoon [Tuesday] if in fact Kershaw will need to undergo hip surgery. Kershaw is meeting with Dr. Bryan Kelly, a specialist in New York, today for an official prognosis...
A hip specialist confirmed that Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw was suffering from a hip impingement, but it still has not been determined whether Kershaw will pitch again this season, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday. Kershaw visited Dr. Bryan Kelly on Tuesday, and Kelly told the Dodgers that Kershaw could continue to pitch without risking further injury, as...
The scheduled game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Washington Nationals on Tuesday night was postponed because of rain.
The NL clubs will make up the game on Wednesday as part of a doubleheader starting at 4 p.m. EDT.
Nationals manager Davey Johnson expects to use Tuesday's scheduled starter, right-hander Jordan Zimmermann, and left-hander John Lannan as his pitchers Wednesday...
The Reds (91-59) became the first team in Major League Baseball to clinch a playoff spot on Thursday when they completed a sweep over the Cubs. The win also trimmed their magic number to clinch the NL Central down to just two. And what better place and time to clinch it than at home at Great American Ball Park on the weekend?
One team who may have something to say about the...
