Found October 07, 2012 on My Sports Rumors:
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp underwent what was thought to be minor shoulder surgery on Friday. Instead Kemp had to have his labrum reattached to the socket. The Dodgers said that they still expect him to be ready for opening day but the recovery should take about four months now as he’s not allowed to swing a bat till January. He and the Dodgers were hoping the damage would be relatively minor and require nothing more than a cleanup, but Dr. Neal ElAttrache decided the labrum had to be repaired — that is, reattached to the socket. The Dodgers issued a statement stating ElAttrache expects Kemp to be ready for opening day. The All-Star center fielder will begin physical therapy in seven to 10 days and is expected to start swinging a bat in early January, according to the team. (Los Angeles Times) Dodgers fans can look to their own roster to get a glimpse of what to expect. First baseman Adrian Gonzalez underwent the same procedure in 2010. He only appeared in 11 spri...
