  • I was in grade school in young Orange County, CA, in the 60's. My Dad took me to several games when Sandy was pitching at Dodger Stadium. It was an unbelievable time to be a kid growing up in Southern California. Sandy Koufax and Johnny Roseboro, The Beach Boys, strawberry fields like a patchwork quilt blanketing the landscape, and so many orange trees the coastal breeze was scented with the pungent smell of orange blossoms. California truly was a paradise then. Nothing lasts forever.
