Found May 15, 2013 on FF Locker Room:
The Los Angeles Dodgers made a pair of moves to change the scenery for the starting rotation some as they have activated right-handed pitcher Zack Greinke while placing right-handed pitcher Josh Beckett on the 15-day disabled list due to a strained left groin. Greinke had missed a month after breaking his collarbone. Beckett on the other hand has struggled mightily in 2013 which is why FFLockerRoom told you yesterday that it wouldn’t be shocking if he was placed on the disabled list even if he really didn’t need it, just to give him time to clear his head. In an unrelated move, the Dodgers have also signed left-handed pitcher Jonathan Sanchez, formerly of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Look for him to be assigned to their Triple-A Albuquerque minor league affiliate. Despite the lack of quality, healthy starting pitching options at the major league level, he will most likely not make the Dodgers rotation any time soon. Los Angeles Dodgers look for the sign of the four

If the Dodgers are going to turn things around this season, it may come down to the number four.  As in players, that is. Zack Greinke’s return to the rotation is one major step towards the Dodgers turning the season around. The Dodgers $147 million man, Zack Greinke, returned to the rotation Wednesday night for the first time since April 11th and pitched well in the Dodgers 3...

Greinke to return Wednesday vs. Nationals

Dodgers fans received good news on Tuesday when the club announced Zack Greinke is expected to take the mound against the Nationals on Wednesday night. Welcome back, Zack! Zack Greinke is expected to start in the series finale against the Nationals tomorrow night. Los Angeles Dodgers (@Dodgers) May 14, 2013 Greinke, who broke his left collarbone during an altercation with Padres...

Josh Beckett: I Don’t Like this Guy

I’m laid up here on the couch laid night trying to watch the Dodgers and Nationals game on MLB.tv, and there’s something that is causing me disturbance. What could make a man disgruntled when he is free of responsibility and The Great One is calling the game? Then I see it. Josh Beckett is meandering and fiddle-******* his way through the second hitter of the game. I don’t...

Dodgers’ Zack Greinke Activated From DL, Will Start Today vs Nationals

Finally, some great news for the Los Angeles Dodgers beleaguered rotation as Zack Greinke will be activated from the DL today to pitch the rubber match of the Dodgers series against the Washington Nationals. Greinke is about 3 weeks ahead of schedule and responded well after his one-and-only rehab start with no reported setbacks or soreness. Expect Greinke to have to work a bit to...

Greinke to pitch but Dodgers aren't sure where

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Zack Greinke will pitch on Wednesday. Whether he does it against the Washington Nationals at Dodger Stadium or the San Jose Giants in Rancho Cucamonga, where the Dodgers' Single-A team plays, remains to be seen. Greinke signed a six-year, 147 million contract with the Dodgers in the offseason but has been on the disabled list since April 12, the day after...

Josh Beckett Suffers Groin Muscle Strain

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Josh Beckett suffered a strain in his right groin during Monday’s start. The injury, while somewhat serious, probably isn’t enough to put him on the 15-day disabled list, but because of the way he has suffered mightily through his first eight starts of 2013, he could find himself going on vacation to clear his head despite all of the injuries that...

Zack Greinke to return on Wednesday for Dodgers

After initially being expected to miss eight weeks following a fractured collarbone that he suffered in a brawl with Carlos Quentin last month, Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Zack Greinke will make his return to the team tonight against the Nationals after just four and a half weeks on the shelf. The Dodgers have struggled this season and are currently 6.5 games out of...

Here’s Kenley Jansen wiggling out of jam to get Zack Greinke the win in his return

After giving up back-to-back bloop singles to put runners on first and third to start the top of the eighth inning, Kenley Jansen managed to wriggle out of trouble without allowing a run and blowing the lead. Here’s how: Also, he’s good at baseball:

Injury Roll Call: Greinke’s comeback, A-Gon feeling pain, Elbert almost ready

Adrian Gonzalez and his neck strain still pose an issue for the Dodgers, as he can swing a bat without pain but can’t play the field or run without significant discomfort. If there was an opportunity for the Dodgers to unilaterally impose the designated hitter rule upon the National League, they just might do it. After all, their first baseman Adrian Gonzalez is still bothered...

Beckett rocked as Dodgers fall to Nationals

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Jordan Zimmermann won his NL and major league-leading seventh game, Ryan Zimmerman drove in three runs and the Washington Nationals defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2 on Monday night after losing Bryce Harper in a violent collision with the wall in right field. Zimmermann (7-1) allowed nine hits and two runs in 7 23 innings, struck out five and walked none...
