Found July 15, 2013 on Baseball Hot Corner:
Team: Los Angeles Dodgers Record: 47-47 (2.5 GB) Biggest Surprise of First Half:  For the Dodgers it would have to be Juan Uribe. Uribe has had a terrible first 2 years in Dodger blue but seems to have found his stroke. His first half slash line looks like this, .271/.344/.415. He seems to be healthy and also seems to be seeing the ball well. He is in the walk year of the contract, so that might have something to do with his play. With the 3B spot always seemingly up for grabs in the Dodgers organization, Uribe can play himself into a new contract with the team if he can keep up his performance this season. Biggest Disappointment of First Half:Matt Kemp. Although injuries have plagued him since last season, the off season shoulder surgery was supposed to fix everything that was wrong. In limited playing time this season, he has only appeared in 61 games, Kemp has only gone deep 4 times and has 24 RBI. “A Whole New Blue” was supposed to showcase the All-Star outfield of Kemp, Andre ...

Injury Roll Call: Kemp returns soon, Puig banged up, Crawford hobbled, Fife’s shoulder again

Matt Kemp is injured and on the disabled list yet again, as he’s suffering from irritation in the AC joint of his re-built left shoulder. Matt Kemp’s lost season took another bad turn on Monday, as the Dodgers center fielder was placed on the 15-day disabled list with left shoulder AC joint inflammation. The move is retroactive to Saturday, one day after Kemp irritated the AC...

My 2013 Los Angeles Dodgers midseason Top 25 prospects

With the Major League Baseball season more than half over, it's time to unveil my midseason Top 25 Dodgers' prospect list. There are some new faces, some young faces (Julio Urias, right) and some players who have broken out. There are also some who have fallen from their preseason rank. There wasn't as much an infusion of talent as there was in last year's midseason...

In Which My Clayton Kershaw Yahoo! Sports Piece Is Posted On Facebook.....By Clayton Kershaw.

I recently penned a piece for Yahoo! Sports on Clayton Kershaw. The next day I was alerted by George Cantu on Twitter that the piece had been put up on Facebook. But it wasn't posted in just any old place; it was put up on Clayton's official Facebook page!Wooooooo! I have no idea whether it was Kersh himself or his people after telling him about it, but I don't care....

Dodgers sign Alberto Estrella, Dominican shortstop, for $600,000

The Dodgers spent another $600,000 on the international market today by signing infielder Alberto Estrella out of the Dominican Republic. From Ben Badler of Baseball America:"Estrella, a 16-year-old who has played in the International Prospect League, stands out for his size (6-foot-4, 195 pounds) and righthanded power potential. Estrella, who has spent time at shortstop, might...

Yasiel Puig parties with Snoop at Playboy Mansion after All-Star snub

Yasiel Puig may not have been selected for the MLB All-Star Game, but he did manage to score an invitation to the Playboy Mansion on Monday night. The Los Angeles Dodgers rookie spent the first day of his All-Star break attending the 8th annual Bear Trap Entertainment (BTE) All-Star Celebrity Kickoff Party at the Playboy [...]

Dodgers’ Matt Kemp expected to return July 21

The Los Angeles Dodgers expect center fielder Matt Kemp to return from the disabled list July 21, the first day he’s eligible to, according to Austin Laymance of MLB.com. Kemp hasn’t appeared in a game for the Dodgers since July 5 when he irritated the AC joint in his left shoulder. The injury occurred during a swing in his first at-bat, and he ultimately exited the...

Greinke throws 2-hitter; Puig sits

Zack Greinke retired his first 13 batters before finishing with a two-hitter for a win in his fifth straight start and leading the Los Angeles Dodgers over the Colorado Rockies 1-0 on Saturday. The Dodgers won for the 14th time in 17 games, despite the absence of rookie outfielder Yasiel Puig, who missed his first game since his promotion on June 3 because of a sore left hip. He...

Dodgers considering rehab assignment for Matt Kemp

It was reported yesterday that the Los Angeles Dodgers are hoping to activate outfielder Matt Kemp from the disabled list on July 21 and insert him back into their regular lineup. Before they do, manager Don Mattingly told Dylan Hernandez of The Los Angeles Times that it might be a good idea to have the veteran prepare by spending time rehabbing in the minors. "I would...

Snubbed Puig is a real Playboy

The best baseball players got rewarded for their hard work and talent by being asked to play baseball one more time in the All-Star Game. Deserving players who just missed out on the honor are said to have been "snubbed," and they presumably kick the dirt with the toe of their shoe and stick out their bottom lip. But not Yasiel Puig, the Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder...

Dodgers Bullpen Much Improved

Through the first couple months of the season the Los Angeles Dodgers bullpen was a mess. The group as a whole had an ERA of 4.65 which is obviously not helpful when you’re in a good deal of games that are close. It’s hard enough to keep a consistency to a bullpen as it is but when the team’s closer isn’t pitching well for an extended period of time it has a ripple effect...

For MLB Fans, Patience is Still a Virtue

I would like to announce that I am calling a MLB fan-only meeting. I have to make a complaint about how the majority of us fans have become so enthralled in Puigmania that we have already decided that Yasiel Puig is the next best player based off of a minuscule sample of 151 at-bats.  Now, before any of you Puigmaniacs jump the gun once again on this article and skip down to...

Today in trolling headlines: LA Times gets its Bleacher Report on

By now, we all now how this internet thing works. Juice up your post with SEO goodness, and then attach a click-baity headline that attracts eyeballs, whether it’s accurate or has anything to do with the story or not. This tactic is pretty much how Bleacher Report built its revenue monster. Now, it seems, more traditional outlets are getting in on the action. After Yoenis Cespedes...

Cuban right-handed pitcher Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez was cleared by the United States government today and is now free to sign with any team in major league baseball, reports Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com.
