Los Angeles Dodgers sign Left Hander Ron Mahay & Other News

The Dodgers today finally found their lefty in the bullpen, 39 year old veteran lefty Ron Mahay, who has been signed to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. I like this guy, just look at that face, wouldn’t that scare you if you were up against him? Just that grimace will make lefties piss their pants. Last year he was awesome against left handed batters, giving up a .210 batting average, a .239 OBP and has a 6.00 Strike outs to walks ratio, opposite a 2.17 ratio against right handed batters. If this guy doesn’t make the team out of spring training, it’s because hes’ being used wrong. He definitely needs to make the club, we need a guy like him, especially in the NL where there are a lot of very good left handed hitters. Also, the left hander that was already with the team, Hong Chih Kuo, avoided arbitration by signing him to a 1 year deal with $2.725 mil with a chance to earn up to $700,000 onto that with bonuses.
