The Dodgers have signed righty reliever Mark Lowe to a minor-league deal with an invitation to Spring Training.
Lowe provides further depth to an already deep bullpen corps. He was a solid strikeout man as recently as 2011, but has never been anything more than a back of the pen arm, with a career 4.10 FIP.
The Dodgers are bringing Kevin Gregg in to camp on a minor-league deal with an invitation to Spring Training.
I realize it’s just a minor-league invitation and Gregg is terrible so he’s not likely to beat out the likes of a Peter Moylan or the aforementioned Lowe, but the thought of Gregg taking up a roster spot with a K/9 IP rate that’s been declining for four years, a walk rate near five per nine, a FIP around five the last two years, and a negative fWAR in three of the last four years is nauseating.
He’s probably going to the make the team out of camp.
Because really, it makes no sense that he should ever pitch in the majors again, let alone for a team with a deep relief corps, so … of course.

The pitchers and catchers report to Camelback Ranch for the Dodgers today, Feb. 12, which officially kicks off baseball season, and tomorrow, Feb. 13, they”ll have their first workout, in which I like to imagine Aaron Harang lumbering through conditioning drills like a monkey. Everybody will report to camp on Friday, Feb. 15, and Spring Training will be in full swing the following...
Rick Honeycutt provides updates on the health of Clayton Kershaw, Javy Guerra, Chad Billinglsey, Shawn Tolleson, and Kenley Jansen.
“Clayton was great, outstanding,” said Honeycutt. “But he was outstanding his last three starts, so that wasn’t a surprise. Shawn Tolleson had a little back tightness, but he threw a ‘pen. So did Josh Wall and Javy Guerra, who isn’t as far...
Mark Lowe and the Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to a minor league contract, giving the team another bullpen option in spring training.
The 29-year-old right-hander was 0-2 with a 3.43 ERA in 36 relief appearances for the Texas Rangers last year, when he didn't pitch in the major leagues from June 25 to Aug. 10 because of a strained muscle in his right side.
He will compete...

Coming off an elbow injury and eyeing a starting job for the Los Angeles Dodgers this season, P Chad Billingsley told reporters on Tuesday that he’s not concerned about his elbow injury heading into this season. Billingsley has been battling a torn ligament in his elbow and opted not to have Tommy John surgery this offseason. The pitcher instead chose platelet-rich injections over...
PHOENIX The most expensive team in baseball history will start to assemble Tuesday, when pitchers and catchers report to the Dodgers' Arizona spring-training complex.

Several of these players were acquired in the middle of last season, which ended with a shocking...
Today is Kevin Stocker's 42nd birthday. Drafted in 1991, Stocker made his major league debut with the Phillies in 1993 and what a doozy it was. Stocker's debut turned out to be a 20-inning game lasting over six hours against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Mitch Williams blew a save in the ninth inning by allowing two runs, walking three batters and a single to force in one...
