Found November 23, 2011 on Dodgers Locker:
PLAYERS: Matt Kemp
TEAMS: Los Angeles Dodgers

27-year old righty swinging CF Matt Kemp of the Los Angeles Dodgers finished 2nd in the voting for the 2011 N.L. MVP Award behind Ryan Braun. Braun essentially won the award because he played on a better team than Kemp. Kemp played in 161 games for the Dodgers last year and he was 195 of 602 (.324 avg, .986 OPS) with 115 runs scored, 39 homers, 126 RBIs and 40 stolen bases. He has now played in 787 games in his first six years with the Dodgers and he is 840 of 2,862 (.294 avg, .846 OPS) with 464 runs scored, 128 homers, 457 RBIs and 144 stolen bases. Kemp got robbed as he should have been the MVP as he put up all of his numbers without much help in the batting order.

Kemp promises 50-50 season after losing MVP

Matt Kemp met all the criteria for an MVP except one. He didnt play on a division winner, or even on a contender. Thats not one of the requirements voters must consider when voting for a leagues Most Valuable Player, but its usually what separates players when voters mark their ballots before the regular season ends. In this case, Ryan Braun won because his value was greater...

Matt Kemp Finishes Second In 2011 NL MVP Award Voting

Matt Kemp finished second to Ryan Braun in the 2011 NL MVP Award voting that was revealed by the BBWAA today. Obviously, I disagree, and I stated my reasoning back in September, but the way the voting played out basically showed why he lost. As you can see, Roy Halladay finished in ninth with Clayton Kershaw in twelfth, this despite Kershaw actually winning the 2011 NL Cy Young...

MVP: My Case for Matt Kemp

I’ve heard a lot of arguments for who should be MVP, on radio, on TV, in print and on the web and it has usually been between Ryan Bruan and Matt Kemp, so I feel that now it’s time for me to chime in on this debate. First, there’s this stupid argument about Bruan playing in “pressure situations” for most of the season because he was in a playoff race. I find that ludicrous...

NL MVP To Ryan Braun Screw You Matt Kemp

The BBWAAvoters really screwed up this time. Image via Wikipedia I mean the AL MVP debate was at least passable, but everybody knew who the NL MVP for the 2011 season was going to be. It would seem that the BBWAA’s blunders are coming from letting their wishes interpret all duties by having an open mind. It was Los Angeles Dodger Matt Kemp, but he came in second and not a close...
