Earlier in the week BC editors spotted a photo of Matt Kemp under the needle of a tattoo artist. We didn’t think much of it because it’s an athlete getting a tattoo. Now comes word that the ink is finished and it’s a massive chest tattoo of his grandparents.
Here is the photo we saw earlier in the week. Notice the image of the grandparents in the background:
The impressive ink work was done by famed L.A. tattoo artist Jun Cha.
Well, none of us would be here without our grandparents, but that’s besides the point. According to Jun Cha’s website:
Family first. The brother Matt Kemp is back to pay tribute to his late grandfather. Thanks to Matt for sticking through another strong session, and his grandparents for the inspiration. More with Matt to come…
All in all, this is very impressive work by Jun Cha and a, um, bold tribute to Kemp’s grandparents.
