The Dodgers iron man Matt Kemp has been placed on the disabled list with a strained left hamstring. In a subsequent move Jerry Sands was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque. Kemp, April's NL player of the month, was leading the NL in all three Triple Crown categories. On top of that, Kemp had played in a Major League high 399 games, last missing a game on August 18, 2009. That streak has obviously come to an end, but is the smartest and safest move at this point. No reason to put Kemp's season at risk, especially after the day-to-day approach failed the first time around less than one week ago. Kemp is expected to return to the Dodgers on May 29th, when he is first eligible to come off the disabled list. Manager Don Mattingly has said he hasn't spoken with Matt about a rehab assignment, but thinks Kemp would benefit from at least on minor league game before he returns, tweets Dylan Hernandez.

What does Matt Kemp's injury mean for the Dodgers?
Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp was placed on the 15-day DL yesterday with a strained hamstring, and the team recalled Jerry Sands from AAA to replace him on the roster. Kemp is only expected to miss the minimum 15 days, and should be ready to go on May 29th. The Dodgers might not miss him all that much, with the 6.5 game lead they have over the Giants in the NL West, and only three...
Kemp to DL, what are your options?
As many fantasy owners feared, Matt Kemp was placed on the 15-day DL with a hamstring injury Monday night.
So, the million-dollar question becomes how does one compensate for the loss of a fantasy superstar the leads the National League in runs (29), slugging (.726) and OPS (1.173), is second in home runs (12), and third in batting average (.359) and RBI (28)?
The short answer...
Kemp injury won't derail Dodgers
All those wins that the Dodgers banked in the first six weeks will come in handy now.
The loss of center fielder Matt Kemp, who went on the 15-day disabled list Monday night because of a mild left hamstring strain, is a significant blow -- Kemp and Andre Ethier have combined to drive in 40 percent of the Dodgers' runs.
Still, the Dodgers (24-11) rank third in the National League...
D-backs try to stop skid in finale with Dodgers
The Los Angeles Dodgers will have to deal with an extended absence from Matt Kemp for the first time in over five years.

Reigning NL Player of the Month Goes to DL
Matt Kemp of the Los Angeles Dodgers got off to a phenomenal start this season, but it isn’t likely the all-star outfielder will win consecutive player of the month awards. Kemp is heading to the 15-Day DL with a strained left hamstring, after initially suffering the injury on May 5th and then exacerbating it on Sunday.
Kemp’s productivity had diminished since May 5th and...

Is Adam Jones Pulling a Matt Kemp?
On Tuesday, Adam Jones took a 1-0 fastball from CC Sabathia in the second inning and launched it out to left field. On Wednesday, in the 15th inning, he destroyed a curveball from Nate Adcock, breaking a 3-3 tie and giving the Orioles a go-ahead run that led to their extra inning win. Yesterday, the victim was Luke Hochevar, whose 4th inning slider didn’t break far enough out...

Ethier makes first start as a center fielder
Given that Matt Kemp followed up his National League MVP runner-up season with a blistering start to the 2012 campaign, it's safe to say the Los Angeles Dodgers will have a hard time replacing their All-Star center fielder. Kemp, hitting .359 with 12 home runs and 28 RBI on the season, was placed on the 15-day disabled list Monday with a strained left hamstring. For the vast...
The Best Time To Player Collect.
As a player collector, finding good deals is essential. They end up being the determiner in how complete I feel my collection of a particular player is at any given time. Deals aren't always there, but when they are, you have to pounce before the market flips and autos, patches, and other hits skyrocket. The time to make your move is when your favorite player is struggling, and...
