Mets Farm Report: July 5th, 2011 – Gnats Win 11th Straight

Buffalo Bisons 11 – Syracuse Chiefs 6 Dylan Owen allowed just one hit in this game. That one hit just happened to be a homerun in the 4th that followed a walk and was responsible for the only two runs against him. Recently signed Miguel Batista got into his first action and got shellacked. He only recorded one out and let four runs come in on five hits. His ERA with the Mets is a mere 108.00. A leadoff error in the 3rd inning opened the floodgates for five runs to score. With one on and two out the Bisons worked back-to-back walks, scored a run on a passed ball, and then Luis Hernandez hit his third homerun of the year, a three-run homerun. The offense kept at it and put up one in the 4th inning, two in the 5th, and another in the 6th. In the 8th Valentino Pascucci managed to hit, his first in nearly two years.
