If chicks do indeed dig the long ball, well then Nellie Cruz was probably busy this past week. Your ALCS MVP decided to get red hot against the Tigers, and connect for 6 HRs total in the series. The stats don’t lie Cruz hit .364, 6 Bombs, and 13 RBIs. All of his 8 hits went for extra bases. Behind Cruz’s efforts, the Rangers are headed to the World Series to face the St. Louis Cardinals. (yawn) Game 1 will take place in St. Louis and feature aces Chris Carpenter vs. CJ Wilson. Will Nellie continue his hot hitting? The few that tune into the World Series will find out. (yawn) Cruz is an interesting case. He’s 31-years old. Technically, he’s had 7 years of big league service. His first four years he played a grand total of 176 games and hit 22 home runs in those games. He just hit 6 home runs in 6 games.
