After hitting only 12 home runs during the regular season, San Francisco Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval belted out three round-trippers — in his first three at-bats (with the first two coming off Justin Verlander) — Wednesday night in Game 1 of the World Series against the Detroit Tigers, finishing the game 4-4. Saying, “Man, I still can’t believe it,” Sandoval’s heroics propelled the Giants to a big 8-3 win over the Tigers, and by blasting three homers, joined Babe Ruth, Reggie Jackson and Albert Pujols as the only players to accomplish that utterly amazing feat in a World Series game and forever including himself in World Series lore alongside those three legendary sluggers. Your browser does not support iframes. Kung-Fu Panda’s vulgar display of power on Wednesday now gives him six home runs this postseason. Not bad for a guy with only 12 dingers all year, eh?   TweetThe post Pablo Sandoval: Good at hitting balls out of the ballpark — in the postseason (video) appeared first on Sportress of Blogitude.
