San Diego Padres second baseman Orlando Hudson has been carted off the field as a precaution after colliding with a wall while making a catch, but a team spokesman says he's expected to be fine. Hudson moved his arms, spoke and shook at least one teammate's hand before being driven off the field strapped to a stretcher Thursday. He was taken to a hospital for precautionary tests but was able to take off his socks in the clubhouse, the team said. Hudson was injured after he leaned forward to make a running catch, just before hitting the back of his head and right shoulder on the wall. He fell onto his back and didn't move for several moments, and teammates rushed to his aid. The injury delayed the game 8 minutes.
