Padres right-handed pitcher Dustin Moseley has undergone season-ending surgery on his non-throwing shoulder.
Moseley had the surgery Wednesday. He had been on the disabled list since July 26 after dislocating his left shoulder while hitting a single.
Moseley was 3-10 with 3.30 ERA in 20 starts during his first season in San Diego. He often got little run support.
The 29-year-old Moseley dislocated the same shoulder a number of times this season. He winced after his hit, but remained in the game after trainers moved his shoulder back into place.
San Diego manager Bud Black, who coached Moseley with the Angels, liked what he saw.
''He's a steady, dependable starting pitcher,'' Black said. ''He's been steady with a good ERA, internal numbers are solid. He made a great showing.''
