About a dozen clubs have checked in on Young, according to major league sources. One of the teams being the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox had their vice president of player personnel, Allard Baird, watch the Phillies in back-to-back series before the All-Star break, sources say. Young, 36, came to the Phillies after an off season trade from his longtime team the Texas Rangers. He is batting .288 with a .759 OPS. The Red Sox would play Young at third base according to Ken Rosenthal. The Yankees, another team that have shown strong interest would play Young at both third and first base. Other clubs, sources say, would use Young at least part-time at second, a position he has not played at regularly since 2003. The Phillies currently sit at 48-48 on the year, ...
