The Dodgers signed Jay Gibbons to a one-year major league deal worth $400K plus incentives, according to Dylan Hernandez of the LA Times. Gibbons, 33 earned a call up to the majors after hitting .347/.375/.594 in Triple-A this year. Gibbons didn't stop there as he put ended up posting a .280/.313/.507 line in 80 plate appearances for the Dodgers in 2010. This was completely expected on my part, and I fully expect the Dodgers to give him a shot filling the vacancy in left field now that Podsednik has voided his option for 2011 and becoming a free agent. The signing of Gibbons could break off whatever talks were left between Podsednik and the Dodgers.
