Rowand Back?
Aaron "Fence-Face" Rowand was released by the San Francisco Giants the other day and as soon as he clears waivers the Phils might throw the guy a bone and bring him back to Philly for the final month of the season. He wouldn't be postseason eligible, but it would be a feel-good story and I'm sure the Phans will love it.
Carpenter Gone:
To create space on the 40-man roster, Andrew Carpenter was released and those cost conscious San Diego Padres picked him off the waiver wire. Carpenter is expendable, compiling a 1-1 record in 11 games with a 8.53 ERA over the past 4 years with the Phillies. The converted starting pitcher had a great season in Triple-A as a reliever, striking out over a batter and inning and posting a 1.79 ERA. Good luck to him.
