Bob Nightengale of USA Today Sports says former Houston Astros reliever Russ Springer admitted that he intentionally hit San Francisco Giants star Barry Bonds while he immersed in a steroid scandal while attempting to break Hank Aaron‘s Home Run Record in 2006.   It was in the top of the 5th inning when Springer felt the need to use the baseball as a weapon and throw at Bonds. I’m sure there was a lot of built up frustration during that game as well. The Giants had an 11-3 lead at that point in the game when Springer hit Bonds.   The pitch sequence in that Springer vs. Bonds at bat:   Ball 1 – Slider that skipped two feet behind Bonds (Springer and Astros manager get warnings) Ball 2 – Slider that nearly drilled Bonds in the knees Foul Ball – Fastball that came in tight and Bonds tried to get out of the way and the ball nicked the knob of the bat for a foul ball. Hit By Pitch – Fastball (93 MPH) that drilled Bonds in the upper back.   Springer said, “I don’t lose sleep over
