Even though outfielder Shane Victorino has played only five games with the Los Angeles Dodgers, he told his representatives that he wants to resign with the team Mark Saxon of ESPNLosAngeles reports. âI don't want to just be a two-month or three-month rental,â Victorino said. âI want to be here.â
According to Saxon, playing for the Dodgers has shown Victorino the advantages of being in the West Coast. Apparently his parents flew from Maui to attend Monday night's game and his wife and kids would be able to fly from Las Vegas to Los Angeles in less than an hour.
âDon't get me wrong. I still miss Philly and I still miss everything about that place, but now that this chapter has come into play, there are a lot of other things I look at,â Victorino said. âI'd love to stay here for the next however many years and win one here.â
The 32-year old outfielder is hitting .257/.319/.392 with 9 HR's, 40 RBI's and a 91 OPS+ in 453 plate appearances for the Dodgers and Phillies this season.
