One of the biggest things that’s been plaguing the Los Angeles Dodgers lately (other than their embattled owner Frank McCourt) is pitching. A team in a park that’s supposed to be built on pitching has been horrible at it. The last Dodgers shut out was May 29th, Clayton Kershaw against the Mariners and believe it or not Dioner Navarro was the pitcher then as well. Before that it was May 17th, Hiroki Kuroda against the Milwaukee Brewers. Suffice to say, Navarro needs to be Clayton Kershaw’s personal catcher. This is the 3rd game that Navarro has caught Kershaw and in those three he has 2 complete game shut outs and one game where he got into the 6th inning giving up only 1 run, so that’s a total of 1 run in 24 innings, I hope Mattingly sees this. It just seems Navarro gets it, the pitchers don’t shake him off, they work quickly and with confidence. Despite his bat, he needs to be the guy behind the plate because you can’t win games if you can’...
