Very cool news from the Bryan Stow website today.

The 42-year old paramedic and father of three, who is in a Northern California rehabilitation center still recovering from the vicious attack he suffered at the hands of two LA gang bangers at Dodger Stadium on Mar. 31, wrote his name for the first time since the incident sparked outrage across the baseball world.

“[It] speaks volumes and we are so proud of him,” the Stow family wrote on its website, support4bryanstow.com.

Stow is receiving about three hours of physical and occupational therapy each day and is making great strides in his recovery.

If you get a chance, swing by the website and wish him well.

In related news, the Los Angeles Dodgers may finally be bought out.

According to the Los Angeles Times, current team owner Frank McCourt has agreed to finally sell the team after years of what can only be described as ludicrous mismanagement of a fetid estate.

The sale of the stinkin’ Dodgers could take months, which likely means little to no free agent activity this winter for the team that finished 82-79 last season and got fantastic contributions from Matt Kemp (.324, 39 HR, 126 RBI, 40 SB, Gold Glove, likely MVP) and Clayton Kershaw (21-5, 2.28 ERA, 0.977 WHIP, 248 SO, Gold Glove, likely Cy Young).

McCourt bought the Dodgers in 2004 and he and his estranged wife, Jamie, have made a laughing-stock out of the club ever since.

Even Tommy Lasorda, who considers McCourt a friend, is glad he’s selling the team.

“I want to see someone come in here and get those fans back,” Lasorda said.

Just not the gang bangers, Tommy, OK?
