Found September 01, 2012 on Feelin' Kinda Blue:
Sorry for the lack of posts, but I've been feeling as uninspired as the Dodgers' performance this week. To be frank, I'm pissed with this team. There is absolutely no excuse for the performance its had this week. I'm not one to normally go off and rant, but it seemed a little appropriate here. The Dodgers made this huge blockbuster deal (in August, no less) and they can't even beat the likes of the Rockies or Diamondbacks. I get it, playing in Colorado sucks. I piss and moan about it all the time when the Dodgers go there. But this was not only a last-place Rockies' team, but one of the worst, most depleted teams in baseball. If you need further proof of that, Jeff Francis shut the Dodgers out for five innings on Monday. Yes, that Jeff Francis. That was the beginning of this (so far) horrific week. They were never in the game on Tuesday before barely escaping with a win on Wednesday -- a game that was 10-1 at one time (final was 10-8). ...

Dodgers glad to have Abreu back on roster

The Los Angeles Dodgers added four players to their roster over the weekend, but the one who could provide the most impact is the oldest of the bunch, 38-year-old Bobby Abreu. The outfielder was designated for assignment by the Dodgers on July 31 to make room on the roster for Shane Victorino, who had just been acquired from the Phillies. The Dodgers convinced Abreu to stay with...

D-backs' momentum stalls after a loss in L.A.

LOS ANGELES -- The Diamondbacks were this close to finishing their mission here Sunday, which made the ending all the more frustrating. Two outs from taking three of four games from Los Angeles as a momentum-building run-up to a series in San Francisco, the D-backs' stinging walkoff loss cluttered their path to a possible postseason berth that much more. "This one here...

Tim Federowicz, Alex Castellanos, Javy Guerra Lead Potential September Helpers

Now that rosters have expanded, let the speculation on who gets the September call begin! Pump the brakes a bit though, because unfortunately for the people who wish to see young players show their stuff: 1) the 40-man roster is full 2) guys on the 60-day DL are due to return 3) um … the

Dodgers 2, Diamondbacks 1

Josh Beckett pitched 6 2/3 strong innings for his first victory since being traded to the Dodgers and Andre Ethier hit a tie-breaking home run in the sixth inning to help Los Angeles beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 2-1 on Saturday night, snapping the Dodgers' eight-game skid against their NL West rival. D-backs' 'Survial Swing' off to a very good start

LOS ANGELES Game 2 of the Diamondbacks' Survival Swing built on the first. Another victory over the Dodgers, whose recent big-money moves have not brought them immediate return. Padres-Dodgers Preview

The Los Angeles Dodgers are hoping a walk-off double by Adrian Gonzalez can build confidence and spur a hot streak. Gonzalez likely needs no extra motivation for the club's next series. Gonzalez is set to face his original major league team for the first time since joining the Dodgers in Monday night's opener with the San Diego Padres at Chavez Ravine. Gonzalez had mostly...

Mattingly calls team meeting following loss

Are they listening now? Are they? Is there actually reason to believe things with the Dodgers will be different after Manager Don Mattingly kept the clubhouse doors closed for approximately 15 minutes for a team meeting following Thursdays 2-0 loss to the Diamondbacks? Mattingly is not particularly fond of these things, but after watching his listless-looking team give away early...
