The Dodgers outfield has been the teams strongest the last few seasons with Kemp and Ethier being mainstays. After the Dodgers let Manny go via waiver last season, left field has been been the one area where the team has needed an upgrade.
Left Field
Left field has been interesting. The season started off with Jay Gibbons and Marcus Thames both of which were disappointments and were DFA’d. Later Tony Gwynn took over the job but didn’t provide much pop in the line up.
Later Ned Colletti picked up Juan Rivera for little to nothing, he’s been very good for the team, taking up the 4 spot and moving Kemp to a more useful 3rd in the lineup showing how much this team really needs a guy like him. I hope to see him back next season as I don’t think that Jerry Sands is ready to take over the position in an everyday capacity.
