MLB Injury News:
The Chicago White Sox placed pitcher Jesse Crain and first baseman Paul Konerko on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder strain and lower back strain, respectively.
As reported by Cash Kruth of MLB.com,
"Crain, who leads all American League relievers in ERA, has been
sidelined since Sunday. Konerko played Tuesday after missing the
previous six games with the injury. This is only Konerko's third trip to
the DL in his 15 seasons with the White Sox."
Crain, who has a career record of 45-30 with a 3.05 earned run average in 532 games, has a 2-3 record and a miniscule 0.74 earned run average this season.
Konrerko, who has 429 home runs, 1,366 runs batted in and a .282 average in his career, has 7 home runs and a .249 batting average in 67 games.
To fill the roster spots of Crain and Konerko, the White Sox recalled third baseman Brent Morel and left-hander David Purcey from Triple-A Charlotte.

Something you might not have heard from the past few days is that Micah Owings became a free agent. Owings opted out of his contract with the Washington Nationals, and the Nats granted him his release. Something you probably did hear from the last few days is that Casper Wells pitched in relief. Wells wasn’t the only recent-days position player on the mound, but Wells didn’t...
At least for one night, the White Sox had all facets of their game working together.
Starter John Danks was solid, and the White Sox made no errors. That’s also combined with a stellar showing by the bullpen and a little bit of timely hitting by the offense. The White Sox managed to snap their five game skid and knock off one of the hottest teams in baseball.
The Chicago White Sox's season has been filled with its share of disappointment, sparking discussions they may be looking to revamp the roster.
If Adam Dunn is a player being shopped, he's sure increasing his value.
