The New York Yankees weren’t thought to be looking to be big spenders this offseason. They were going to try to lock up Robinson Cano, but that was thought to be their only “big” money plan, or so we thought. This offseason, the New York Yankees are eyeing a spending plan of about $300 million, according to Andrew Marchand of ESPN New York. Their targets are Cardinals outfielder Carlos Beltran, Braves catcher Brian McCann, Japanese pitcher Masahiro Tanaka and their own free agent Robinson Cano. Robinson Cano is looking for a 10-year, $305 million contract this offseason, according to multiple reports. While Cano is looking for that, it is extremely unlikely that he lands a contract with those parameters. Cano can expect to sign a contract for about six-to-eight seasons, but not at the price of $30.5  million per season.
