After a spectacular night of MMA action, UFC president Dana White awarded Jose Aldo, Frankie Edgar (Pictured), Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva and Bobby Green each an additional $50,000 for their special performances Saturday night at “UFC 156: Aldo vs. Edgar.”
As main eventers are expected to do, Aldo and Edgar put on the most thrilling performance of the evening. White awarded the 145-pounders with ‘Fight of the Night’ for their 25-minute affair.
Green rallied to beat Jacob Volkmann in his big league debut. He caught Volkmann with a rear-naked choke to win ‘Submission of the Night.’
Speaking of comebacks, Silva had lost the opening two rounds to Alistair Overeem before laying the lumber in the final frame. Bigfoot pocketed ‘Knockout of the Night’ for his vicious victory.
UFC 156 took place inside Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
