Jeff Monson made an interesting and, in typical Monson style, incendiary comment a few years back basically saying that all athletes should be on steroids, that way there’s an equal playing field. Although that is something to consider for at least half a second, Monson doesn’t seem to factor in the damage steroids and certain PEDs do to someone’s body of years of use. Damaging your heart, shortening your career, and the obvious shunning from the sport in which you make your living are all factors that play into the game of gaining an edge.
