A heavyweight clash between Stefan “Skyscraper” Struve and Stipe Miocic will serve as the main event for UFC on Fuel TV 5 in Nottingham, England. UFC officials announced that Struve and Miocic have verbally agreed to meet at the September 29th bout.
Struve and Miocic will look to build upon their impressive wins at UFC 146. Struve (24-5) needed just 65 seconds to record a armbar submission win over Lavar Johnson. Miocic (9-0) finished the previously undefeated Shane del Rosario by technical knockout in the second round.
The 6’11″ Struve has now won three straight and five of his six outings. He has recorded 16 of his career wins by submission. The undefeated Miocic has won his first three appearances in the UFC. Seven of his nine wins have come via knockout.
Taking place from the Capital FM Arena, UFC on Fuel TV 5 marks the UFC’s debut event in Nottingham. The fight card is still taking shape but confirmed bouts include Brad Pickett taking on Yves Jabouin and Andy Ogle facing Akira Corassani.
