UFC President Dana White reveled on UFC Tonight that a super-fight matching middleweight champion Anderson Silva and welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre is closer to a possibility than ever previously thought. White stated that if St-Pierre defeats Carlos Condit at UFC 154 then a meeting with Silva could be his next fight. The timing of the fight could be right as both champions have warmed to the idea of facing the other after being dominate in their divisions for so long.
St-Pierre wants to remain at welterweight despite long standing rumors that he would eventually move up to complete at middleweight of 185-pounds. Silva had even considered making the move down to welterweight to face St-Pierre. However, according to White, this match-up would take place at a catchweight of 180-pounds. In addition, a blockbuster meeting between Silva and St-Pierre would potentially be held at the Cowboys Stadium in Texas.
