It had been hinted that this fight would happen and at his UFC 161 pre fight scrum Dana White announced that Jones and Gustafsson would fight September 21st in Toronto, Canada at UFC 165. This is the fight people wanted to see rather than Jones rematching Machida after the performance he put on against Henderson in his last fight. One thing about the UFC is they always put on the fight the fans want to see.
